From the movie Almost Famous, the famous rock critic character Lester Bangs says: "Music, not just rock and roll-- it chooses you. It lives in your car, or alone, listening to your headphones, over the vast scenic bridges and angelic choirs, inside your brain. Its a place apart, from the vast benign lap of America."
I've been noticing headphones references lately for some reason. Another was from Robert Plant, "The first time I really monitored using headphones was during the recording of the first album, and what I heard through them was better than the finest chick in all the land."
