I just take my glasses off when the headphones go on. My abysmal uncorrected vision (near / legally blind) ‘steers’ me to more focused listening. When I post on Head-Fi, I just hold the iPhone close to my eyes….The wife thinks that I look absurd. If that perception is a ‘price’ of enjoying ZMF LTD Atrium Cocobolo…that is a deal!…
you can get glasses that have a thinner part at the back; for me, i removed the plastic covering, exposing the metal but it ends up being thinner in the back, so i don't have as much of a problem with seal.
I tilt the arms of my glasses just enough to clear the ear pads. It helps that Oakley frames contour the face closely. I like the suggestions in this thread. I don't ever think I will adjust to idea of contact lenses. While practical, they are a nuisance to put on without constant use or practice. Fear The Finger Poke Of Doom!
These days I need reading glasses when I use my DAP, tablet or PC. When using headphones at the same time, I try to use the glasses with the thinnest arms and there's usually not too much of a seal or comfort issue.
The OPs glasses are the same style and I bet from the same assembly source) as the glasses the USN issued me to wear when using a gas mask or fire fighting gear!
I haven't seen them for private sale before and I wish I had seen this early in COVID as it would have made ear loop masks a lot more comfortable.
I usually just take my glasses off when listening to music, and since my eyes are so bad that I cant really be doing anything else other than sitting in front of my phone when doing so, I will hopefully be getting Lasek soon which am really excited about.
Some headphones have really soft ear pads, even wearing glasses while listening doesn't feel uncomfortable. But for the rest... I pick my tracks and create a playlist, then take off my glasses to enjoy them
Just found this topic - wanted to let everyone know that they make this cool new audiophile invention called soft contacts! I wear them all the time. Jokes aside I agree with jonathan c - when I take off my glasses and can't see I am forced to focus in on the sound. I've had a few headphones that sound terrible with the pad seal broken so I've grown accustomed to taking them off every time I put on headphones. The only time I wear them with frames now is driving with the family and I need sunglasses.
