Hey. So, I'm not really an expert audiophile, but I appreciate good sound, and I'm willing to spend a bit of extra money for it. Recently I damaged my audio jack by dropping my laptop while the headphones were connected, and now I'm wondering whether it would be cheaper to buy an external audio interface instead of paying to fix the jack (I'm out of warranty). The problem is that I have no idea where to start looking. Can anyone help me? Something preferably in the 50-150 dollar range.

You could try the FiiO E17, it's a usb dac/amp. You insert a usb cable from your laptop to the E17 and plug your headpshone into the E17 headphone output.
