I bought the Sony MDRV 6 headphones a few months ago.

This morning I noticed the sound is distorted especially voices.

Last night when using them on my laptop everything was fine.

Weirdly I have not used them with my iPod since a week but even though the 3.5 mm jack still fits in my laptop (but with sound distortion and voices really silent) it does not fit anymore in the ipod; there is no "click" when putting them in the ipod they just go inside barely attached/fixed and no sound is heard from ipod.

Somehow I must have broken them. Maybe the laptop's plug is defect and damaged them.

I guess it's one of the rings of the jack, the metal looks the same and is really solid obviously.

Can I easily find a new 3.5mm jack and have them replaced at a store ?

I just pressed on the side of the jack when plugged in laptop and this made the sound (almost) normal, when I release it's bad again. This means it is bended ? If I look at it, it looks straight. Anyway as long as I can easily replace the jack..
