And yet Grados seem much louder than Senns when both are driven directly from a weak portable player (even though the actual difference in the total sensitivity between the SR-325 and the HD600 from a near-zero-Ohm jack is less than 3 dBA). Why? Because the Grados have a substantial response peak in the upper mids and lower highs! (While most Senns are a bit recessed in that area.)
