Will Sennheiser HD 518s and 558s work with a Nexus 5? Thanks

They should be ok. If you need higher volume get something like a Fiio E6 amp. Under $30 really good sound very small.

Thanks. And do you recommend the 518s over, say, the Audio Technica M40x, the AKG Y50s or the JBL Synchros S300/ E50BT?
Those are my main options, but I could pot for the 558 for 30 more euros. What do you think?

I can't comment on other than the ATM40X and that would be I had the 50x and didn't like it at all. Was uncomfortable and did not sound all that good. I returned them. I have the 558s love them. Sound and comfort are outstanding. The 518 is very good but I would go 558s if possible worth the extra in my opinion.
