I am planning to switch over to the laptop exclusively, and want an heaphone that I can use at home for listening to music and watching movies.
The laptop is the lenovo w520, and pretty sure it has the four slot 3.5mm adapter that allows for microphone.
Currently I am using the creative fatal1ty headset on my desktop that I have been using for a while.
Also have the re0 whose sound I love, but it gets tiresome after a while so I generally use the heaphone above to listen to music and watch movies. (and the durability is of question, had to replace it once already, and had to glue my current one).

A volume controller would be awesome but I guess I could live without it.
And I don't think I want a full size headphone, because I don't want an amp, and they are heavy (had the gaming tritton ax51 pro at one point, which was incredibly comfortable, but one of the sides failed).

I think Panasonic and Philips make headphones for around $25 that come with a volume control.
