I bought a pair of Garfield Softies at B&H recently to try with my SR 225's as they cover the earpiece cup and make the Grado bowls a bit more comfortable. They're made out of 100% rayon, which the mfg claims will not have any effect on the sound and might be comfy to wear with my HD 25-1 during the colder months to help keep my ears warm. Anyone have any experience with this product or anything like it?
A friend told me she could make the same type of cover out of silk. Does anyone know if silk would have an affect on the SQ?
One of the reasons I'm asking is I'm not sure *how* things sound anymore. I find that my hearing seems to change and get better as the day goes on. Nothing I ever thought about before I joined Head-Fi.
Anyway, I'm wondering what the take on these things is and whether they're worth fiddling with.
TIA,
Carlos
