Is there an easy way to remove a driver that is glued into its housing?

Should heat be applied, or use and xacto knife around the perimeter?

I am wanting to experiment with some no name cans laying around that I have had for years, and to learn how to do this for diy stuff with better gear down the road.

Are you sure it is glue and not silicon? If it is silicon, it should be somewhat pliable and you can use a small screwdriver to scrape it off along with small needle-nose pliers to pull bits off. If it is glue than I would use a sharp knife like the Xacto you mentioned. I would not recommend using heat since drivers are fragile little buggers. Just take it slow and be patient. Don't force anything too much.

Good luck!

Thanks Warrior.

I will double check it in a bit, but pretty sure it was hard glue.
