[UPDATED]:Headphone DAC and AMP recommendations under 4500$

That's why we have our iPower Elite

Linear PSUs are hot these days and we understand why, but many have huge noise at the rectification frequencies and at multiples 50Hz, 100Hz, 150Hz (...or 60, 120, 180 for 60Hz countries) etc. Our ultimate goal is silent power delivery, but we have our own ways how to achieve that

There's place for both iFi audio and AMR, but the latter takes longer and that's all there is to it really. Products of that caliber aren't born overnight, but those users who look forward to AMR won't be dissapointed once its here
Why don’t you tell us why anyone should buy a new ifi pro dac when they can get the used AMR 777 dac for about the same or less?

It does look like an inspiration from goldmund.

Yes, DP777 is the DAC. Why bother with budget ifi stuff when you can get the real ifi (that is AMR) for same or less than the budget brand. The dac sounded pretty good back in the days and it's not like things magically sound bad after the warranty period ends.

Yes. ifi is a subsidiary of AMR and is supposed to be their budget line with trickle down tech from the AMR line

Some of our customers who got AMR-DP777 and DP-777SE (both discontinued) have found them different than Pro iDSD Signature, but not better. iFi's TOTL DAC is also more versatile and loaded considering its utilities. But then again, there are no bad choices here, we're very proud about AMR's devices :)

That's correct. We started as AMR, iFi audio was born many years later and based on many principles and tech of the former brand.

The dac sounded pretty good back in the days and it's not like things magically sound bad after the warranty period ends.

That's true, a good DAC or amp will always be good.

I actually can’t hide the fact how terrible 4.4mm feels when plug it in. Feels like the whole port is tearring apart

Only XLR 4pins. Changed the og post.

It's the most robust connection type of them all for our audio purposes and in our products we accommodate it whenever possible, but not always there's enough space for it. 4.4mm is quite nice in portable hardware :)

I actually have a question regarding ifi diablo. If the whole dac is balanced. The 6.3 port is also balanced but just not the same voltage?

micro iDSD Diablo's 6.3mm headphone out is single-ended and so is the entire circuit prior to it, that is a part of the entire balanced circuit.

You don’t mention streamer, but if you want a 3 in 1 combo, I highly recommend the Naim Uniti Atom HE. I use it with Focal Utopia and find it’s a better match than even the Chord Dave/mscaler. It’s $3700. It has a display but defaults to just album art. The remote controls volume and playback. Has the 4 pin XLR headphone plug on the back.
