Hi,

I'm just curious about setup. I'm currently listening to my K701's, via a 20', 1/4 to 1/4" headphone cable extension from my 990 prepro. Also, I'm thinking about purchasing a headphone amp and if I do, I'm wondering how best to make use of it.

Is it better to have short rca interconnects, between the 990's analogue outs and the headphone amp, using the 20', 1/4 to 1/4" headphone cable extension; or, a 20' rca interconnect, between the 990 and the headphone amp, without any headphone cable extension?

Thanks in advance,

John

This question is asked very frequently. It is better to have a longer headphone cable (plus whatever extension as long as it is good quality) than longer interconnects. If you want to read into the subject more, just use the search function.
