I've been researching allot lately.

I'd like headphones and possibly an amp for my workstation.

I've tried:

hd 555 - natural, slightly fatiguing high end, relaxed overall.
px100 - sloppy bass, overall good sound
ah-d1001- bass was tight but sounded hollow, natural
ah-d2000- sounded very nice, boomy sounding overall
grados60/80/125- very fatiguing, couldnt listen very long


I need something around 325$US total. I have decent DAC's (soundcard/cowon d2) and am looking for nice headphones.

sound leakage doesnt matter, I just cant use my speakers sometimes.

how much does an amp help exactly, can somebody explain how it helps? My sources are around 80mW and 32 ohm


I game allot and listen to classic rock, modern rock, jazz, jam bands etc.
