I've been lurking on this site for a little while and I've decided to purchase some new headphones but I can't narrow it down to which ones would be best. I've read about the Denon AH-D1001, Sennheiser HD555 but I can't seem to I hope with some details you guys can help me pick..

- Would be used with an iPod without an amp.
- ~150$ or less shipped to Canada
- I listen to house/techno type music

Thanks in advance!

For electronic music, the Denon D1000s are better for sure. From what I've read, they have better bass, are very comfortable, and at their price, are a steal. But if you're willing to buy used and stretch your budget. The Denon D2000s would be a worthwhile upgrade.

I cant comment on Denons but the HD555 are good for great listening hours for Electronic... because the Highs on Electronic music can get very harsh.

I am enjoying my Electronic music on HD555's with slight EQ on the Bass

Do hear Denon D1001 & HD555 before buying.
