I'm going to try the HE-500 + HA160 maybe they were just breaking in when I tried it and didn't like it?

I'm impressed the D1 could drive the HE-500's; how high did you have to go on the VC to listen comfortably?

MalVeauX's reviews nearly have me sold on the HE-500's the same way Project86 sold me on the D1; but, I planned on picking up the ODA (if it isn't vaporware) to power the HE-500's.

Around 50-60 sounds good on the D1.

Update - HA160 sounds the same as 160D. My previous experience could be chalked to the headphones being brand new and breaking in.

What improvements do you find between the D1 HPA and the Burson?

Bass and soundstage is better (IMO) on Burson vs. D1. It's not a huge difference and I could live with either.
