So, I was contemplating yet another cable upgrade, and this time, I was thinking of getting my AKGs, Sennheisers and Audeze's some new cables. However, I am about 10ft from my amps, so having 3 sets of Sennheiser (6/7/8xx) and Audeze cables would mean close to $3,000.

Then I remembered that Q-audio has adapter cables that will change the Audeze termination to a Sennheiser one. What a brilliant idea! Now I can justify getting the ALO reference 16 cables if that one cable can potentially be used for all my headphones. Alas, ALO doesn't offer such a product (to my knowledge).

Here are the two sites I have seen such a product.

Has anyone else thought along the same lines? Has anyone experimented with this option?

Smart.  I think there is another cable builder/seller that has something similar going on, but I forgot who, so it is not probably not that unpopular of an idea.
I would try it out if I were you.  Did you search the forums for people's feedback on such a setup?

I did, but it is a difficult topic to search as there isn't an industry standard for the term interchangeable headphone connector :S

I am going to try it out. :)
