Hi all its been awhile since ive been on head-fi, ive gone the speakers route, but now need to use headphones for night time listening, im looking for a good cheap headphone amp and it looks like the headbox II fits the bill. I did a few searches and couldnt find anything on the headbox II (just the original) and was wondering if this is indeed a good amp, please let me know having no night time listening is fun.

Because there is nothing to talk about. This amp is probably the worst desktop amp I have ever heard. Whatever DIY in this price range will outperform it easily.

I've only listened to the MKI, and it was horrible. I just looked at the MKII in the store the other day and thought it looked more promising with a good price. But if it sucks so bad, I won't even go listen to it.

I have a MKII version. It's certainly not in the same league as more expensive amps. But for the money, it's built very well, and it sounds decent with my HD650's. I purchased it about a year ago for $119 from deciBel Audio.

my 3channel cmoy does alot better than this amp...........
