Hello all,
I own a HeadAmp GS-1 fully discrete headphone amp and absolutely love it, but I recently bought a used pair of HifiMan HE-6 headphones from a friend, and the GS-1 doesn't quite have enough output power to power them with any authority at all. It also doesn't power the AKG K340 very well either. I also feel that my HifiMan HE-560 could benefit from more power as well.
I really don't want to upgrade to a more powerful amp, cause I love the sonics of the GS-1.
Has anyone ever modified their HeadAmp GS-1, or similar Gilmore, Dynahi, Dynalo, etc., type Class A fully discrete amp to have more output power?
If so, please go into detail about how you did it, and approximately how much more power did you get?
Any other tips, ideas, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I sent Justin at HeadAmp an email asking how to increase the output power, but he never responded.
Thanks so much for your help.

Power supply I think is +/- 16.4V, which is what limits the output power. Short answer, no.
SuSy Dynalo, Dynahi, and KSA-5 clone will all run at higher voltages and make more power.....
