Would love to hear about more direct comparisons--particularly for the upcoming CFA-T.

I'll sometimes read about an amp or headphone that's tuned with something in mind and I'd love to hear how Justin is approaching the tube preamp integration. Is there a benchmark sound (e.g., AIC-10, or envy pre into CFA3 equivalent) or something similar that he's targeting? I recognize his view might be biased, but I think it's reasonable for a manufacturer to state what their goal/inspiration was--even with something inherently subjective like sound profiles.

We have enough enclosures and transformers to handle all CFA3 Standard and Deluxe Edition pre-orders and then some, but are waiting for some assembled circuit boards to arrive. They have been shipped and will be coming in this week & next week.

So if you already pre-ordered a CFA3 Standard or Deluxe you'll be in that batch, if you have not pre-ordered yet there is still time to receive one from that batch. If you pre-ordered already and did not receive an email today, please check your spam!

Regarding the tariffs, our parts come from all over the world and the situation it is changing every other day and so we have no idea what to expect. Any pre-orders that come in by the end of April will be at the current pricing and with the pre-order discount of 10%. after this we may have to make changes, such as eliminating the pre-order discount and/or increasing the price of the amp. This will also be true for the upcoming CFA3-T/CFA-T hybrid tube model.

I pre-ordered in Fall 2023. I knew it would be a wait. I just didn't anticipate it would be quite this long. If you order now, I'm positive it won't be nearly that long. :ksc75smile:

If it's on, why doesn't the power LED on the top right at ss or ZF indicate what mode you're on? They're both off. Shouldn't the light be on at "zf" when you have the unit on? It is for me...

Just remember Kevin Gilmore Designs has been the gold standard in solid-state headphone amps for the last 25 years. They have been the best solid-state designs in every generation. Others have caught up, but nothing has surpassed a TOTL CFA3 build (Silver Fox is interesting in theory, but no one I trust has heard one, and I certainly am not going to buy one to try. In the near future, it will not be worth the money given the 150% tariff).

Is it possible to preorder the CFA3-T/CFA-T and if so how does payment work?
I'll need to do some serious saving, so I'm wondering if payment is at a later date when preordered.
