Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition

Hi Golfnutz, where would you say the MBs now fit amongst the PHs and XF2s?

My blue MBs are still running fine, and they don't exhibit any untoward brightness using my 007s. So I still rate them as slightly above the PHs irrespective of cost.

My order of preference (respective of cost):

Mullard XF2-OO (best detail and overall presentation - pricey)
Mullard XF3 (I think best soundstage - good used ones are a great value)
Mesa Boogie (BLU) (best price performance ratio - still early for reliability)
Psvane PH (great sound but too many reliability issues - won't buy these again)
ShuguangTreasures (better than stock tubes - not worth the price if you can find used XF3/XF4)
RFT (still on the fence with these - been using them again and can't decide)
SED (didn't warm up to them, maybe I didn't give them enough break-in time)
Mullard Reissue (so long ago I don't remember, just knew I had to try something else)

My genuine opinion is anyone who owns the BHSE should invest in at least 1 quad of NOS or Used Mullard XF2/XF3/XF4. Don't have to use them all the time, but they're nice to have around.

Yes! Fortunately, I'm not the only one that has to be so patient.

Before yesterday: six months; yesterday: one year ! ; today: two years !!

And tomorrow...?

Where will stop the downward spiral of the time? (*)
(* Of the command of an equipment Hi-Fi, as excelent it may be).

Let us be serious; no time limit?

Even the most patient has its limits about patience.

I see you have a KGSSHV.

I just finished mine last night. Mine has 2 pro and 1 normal bias outputs.

Good company for all your Stax! I'm just running solo with the 009.

1 week of burn in. (I'm hoping a silver unit makes it through this part with shining colors)

Close up the power supply and amp enclosures (mine first please!)

Box up for shipping.

Double check your payment shipping address.

Ship ahoy!

I'm guessing another week or so, or more if he is doing all this part himself. Shipment notifications should start heading out soon I would think.

first round of electrical testing of the amps was completed last week. this basically determined if the amp works or not. caught a few reversed wires or other similar mistakes. next the amps all go on the scope/distortion analyzer and are burned in for a week
