I heard the DAC2 with the new transport at Tokyo Audio show (mola mola preamp / power amps, Lansche speakers with the plasma tweeter), that was one of the best setup of the show and sounded even better than previous years (they always have the same kind of setup, 1 pair of loudspeaker only for the demos, simple but effective). 
Hard to judge the DAC from the whole system but, at the very least, no garbage was fed to the electronics downstream, it just sounded sublime.

a bunch of BHSEs have shipped, and the rest Saturday and Monday. there will be 1 more shipment in batch 4 before we move right on to shipping from batch 5 (currently, we have black, silver, dark silver, and gray panels for batch 5, waiting on the blue/purple)

I finaly found a reliable source for a quad matched Philips holland NOS metal base   
 
--> are they really better than the Mullard XF'2 that I can also get for... half the price ?
 
I understand that there are Brown and Black metal base ! Which one are the best ?  ( I use Stax SR009 with my BHSE)
