i've been trying for the longest time to find some earbuds that i can be completely happy with

i've found my IEMs with the PFEs but every earbud has something that really annoys me

i had some E888s and loved the sound but they would fall out of my ear way too easily, had some mx400s at one time and the sound was ok and they didn't fall out of my ears too easily but i lost them, currently have some MX55s and i'm not as thrilled with the sound as i'd like to be but that's not my issue with them so much as the horribly stiff cord (yeah i know i love my stiff corded PFEs but not these), the carrying case they came with sucks (the buds go in the case then the cord is wrapped around the outside of the case) and while the twist lock design keeps them secure in my ears it does get uncomfortable

i am looking at something under $40

i've looked at the PK3s and right now they are the strongest option... even with all the praise the MX580s get i do not like inline volume controls...

so what i need in some earbuds in that price range are:

cord that is flexible and doesn't tangle too easily
good sound obviously
no inline volume control
a decent carrying case is a plus
is comfortable and stays in the ear fairly well
