I have to scroll past 11

Head-Fi.org Featured Content

things to view the recent forum activity.

Do we really need 11?  2 or 3 should be enough, and then right below them a link to "more featured content", where older / less important stuff can be viewed.

I promise you I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Truth be told, Drew, it was always my idea that the homepage would be more for featured content, not subscriptions.  Bookmark the following link for a nice subscription-specific page.

http://www.head-fi.org/users/subscriptions/

A lot of content is generated here.  More and more news is being reported--specific to our interests--from outside of this site.  I want the homepage to help feature some of that.  It'll be curated and updated more regularly, now that we've settled down after CanJam@RMAF 2010, and ahead of CES 2011.

Again, try this link (and bookmark it) for subscriptions:

I almost never visit the home page.  I usually go straight to www.head-fi.org/forums or click on the forum button from the homepage and then hit the "new posts" button.

I think the homepage is useful for first-time visitors and those looking for information, but I skip directly to the forums.  I suspect most others do, too.

Yep well if you're going to do that Jude you should probably do away with the subscriptions on the home page now and make a big effort to keep posting new featured content.
If it's weeks between changes the "Home" page will be nothing more than a statement board of "seen it".

Also can I make the suggestion that |joker|'s fantastic IEM comparison thread and maybe even his portable headphone thread becomes featured.
I'm not alone in saying it's one of the best threads on this whole site.

Ah, that solves it.  I've always been using the home tab to check my subscriptions.  I was unaware of the subscription only section.
In that case, ignore my previous statement.
Thanks Jude.

x2.  My bookmark takes me straight to the forum page.  Since the new site went online I've visited the front page all of two times.
