Believe me, $500 is nothing.

Get out now, and you'll be much better off than the majority of us.

Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor. Have someone you trust set up one of those Cybersitter or Netnanny programs on your PC, and have them block you from accessing Head-fi. It is about the only known cure for what you are going to be going through the next 6 -12 months

Welcome to Head-Fi sorry about your wallet.

Rationalization is the way to go. Keep telling yourself how you are getting quality sound at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent speaker system. It works for me....not quite as well for the wife.

When you get a chance update your profile so we can share your joy of new equipment.

Ah, I remember my first $500. It seems like it wasn't so long ago.

Now, after finding head-fi, I am over $500 poorer. That's over $500 in 15 days!!!

I was just looking for a little info about some decent sound earplugs. Now I am hooked.

Is there some sort of 12-step program I can sign up for?

Does the Betty Ford clinic know about this place?

On a more serious note, I really appreciate all the time people have taken to answer my questions. Especially JMT, he has put up with alot of ignorant questions from me. He answered all of them in a helpful and non-arrogant manner.

Now, if I could only forget I ever found head-fi.

Please join me in grieving for my wallet.

HI:Welcome to head-fi. Idealy if you just get a good headphone and a good amp and have great sound you could stop there and not upgrade for a good while. Be carfull of all the stuff that you just have to get and claim bankruptcy in no time fast. LOL. Good luck.

I will NOT count up how much I've spent. . . I will NOT count up how much I've spent. . . I will NOT count up how much I've spent. . .

REPEAT.

Gah. Thanks for mentioning it! Now, I know in the next few hours, I'll be pretty depressed!

Here is the 12-step program that many are participating in:

Step 1 Spend $500

Step 2 Spend $350

Step 3 Spend $175

Step 4 Spend $675

Step 5 Spend $925

Step 6 ...

You get the idea. The beauty of it is, it's so simple, anyone can follow it. And you will have plenty of support from others here at Head-Fi who are in the same program. And when you get to Step 12, just start over!

Nah, I say, when you get to step 12, hang yourself with:

Your $500 cardas interconnects
The cable from your R10s
Cardas/Clou/Equinox sennheiser cable.

Take your pick!
