Hey guys, I've been hearing scattered things about the Head-Direct EF2 and I was wondering if anyone knew some stuff about this dac/amp: release date, quality, cost, etc...

I read it from HeadphoneAddict's post that it is a $200 tube hybrid.

It's a new tube hybrid by Head-direct and was debuted at Canjam last week. I don't think it's actually up for sale at this moment though.

I didn't go to the Canjam. But from some pics it looks very similar to the EF1. Is it an upgrade or a different line?

Don't quote me on it, but I believe that it's the EF1's little brother and it's little smaller too.

Wow, interesting. I like the industiral look too. If it sounds similar to the EF1 then it's a good buy for the space saver and budget audiophiles. Looks nice.

HeadPhoneAddict has one and traded his EF1 for it. It has a PCM2707 chip and he said the dac reminds him of the 3move, but the amp is amazing for his HF-2 and HD800

HeadPhoneAddict is writing a review on the EF2 and I believe is posting it later this month. I'm really looking forward to this review, especially since I just got an EF1 about a month ago, Grrrr! I do absolutely love my EF1 so it will be interesting to see the differences. I also now wonder what the $300 EF1 can give you that the $190 EF2 can't and vice-versa.
