I just realised a lot of other electrostatic phones like the staxes have a foam protection on the inside to protect the electrostatic part inside.
My HE-60 does not have this protection, I can see right through the phones from the inside to the outside, it's nice to watch but isn't this bad for them ? all dirt can get in.
The only form of protection I have is that black grille... all in all it's too naked.

Has the previous owner removed something or is this normal? I can't find a single picture that's both high res enough and is of the inside as well......

omega 2 has a small mesh screen,with some plastic reinforcement struts behind it that cross the earcup on the inside for protection. however, this doesn't stop it from being see-through..
