I have been reading a lot of those reviews and comparison still getting mixed result.
I owned the HD600 and loved it, sold it a while ago.
Now with a bit of cash I am back into the game again, I am wondering if I should get the HD650($400ish),
or the HE-300 which are on sale for $249 which looks like a steal.

anyone can give me some comparison? with that extra $150 saving I could upgrade my amp to like a Little Dot MK3?
or what amp would be good with HE-300?

Heya,

If you loved the HD600, why did you sell it? Also, what did you like about the HD600?
Also, the HD600 and HD650 are different headphones. The HD650 is not an upgrade. The HD650 needs pretty decent amplification so it could be ultimately more expensive to truly run.
The HE-300 is very similar to the HD600. It's also relatively lower impedance, so doesn't need as much power behind it which reduces overall cost to you.
The HE-300 will run off a soundcard, any portable amp, any desktop amp, any receiver. It's not a power hungry headphone (50ohm, 93dB/mW). It will play off your phone.

Very best,

I sold it because I needed some cash at that time, the $249 asking price seems like a steal....

Get the HE-300's. If you get them from Headphone.com (HeadRoom), they have a no question asked return policy. They're $249 there too. You can try them and if you don't like them return them without any grief.

Very best,

It depends on your needs. If you want privacy of your favorite music, headphone wins the game!

If you want to share your music with your family, speakers is the answer.

My suggestion is: buy both because you have equipment in the two worlds!
