I'm getting the HD800 to use with an Oppo 105. The Oppo-105 has a headphones out, so theoretically no need for an amp... But it sounds from other threads that maybe it won't have enough power for the HD800s? Does anyone have hands-on experience with this?

Regardless, I'll probably need a receiver to potentially use with other sources (turntable, computer), is there one that folks here would recommend for the HD800s?

Might as well try using the Senn HD800s plugged straight into the Oppo 105, see how well it works for you, then think about getting an external headphone amplifier, if needed.

Might try posting your HD800 questions here.
