I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this combo, is the TH capable of driving HD650 well?

To get back to your question and stop crapping your thread I have listened to the combo at the latest NYC meet and it sounded great to my ears. Its amazing how a small thing like that can produce such great sound.

thanks Dimitris, I'm really amazed by it as well. Any other impressions from other members are welcome too.

Do you mean by pushing the amp that it was starting to distort? or just not enough feeling of energy and ease compared to some of the bigger amps?

I've listened to my HD580 on the Tomahawk and it can drive them if you have fresh batteries, but as soon as the batteries start getting a little low they will start distorting when pushed. It is indeed amazing what that little amp can do, but I'm sure the Hornet would do a much better job with the HD650.

The Tomahawk will drive them well provided the source has an output of at least 1 VRMS to 2 VRMS. However the Hornet or the SR71 would be a better alternative specially if you listen at very loud volumes.
