Try an OTL amps before you give up, or try the 600.

Had various OTL amps and also the HD600 and 660S at one time but once you are used to better resolution/clarity it’s hard to go back to the HD650.
Atm have the HEKse, HD800S and Focal ClearMG and the HD650 just can’t compete. Have sold the HD650 in the meantime.

My go to headphones are the 1266 TC’s and the LCD4’s but I listen to the HD650’s once in a while for fun and they’re pretty good for what they are. They are actually quite good.

Well honestly the 650 is my least favorite of the trio mentioned. That's a pretty awesome line up of cans u have. My current line up doesn't match up. I do think the 600 on OTL only - holds up decently. As always equipment that editorialize but little hold up well. Then there is the cost new or used. Clear is better than 600, but 4-5 x better? As we know 4 or 6 % better for that delta is par for the course. I imagine the folks that designed the Clear thought of the 600 a few times.

Big fan of the LCD-4. TC's are very authoritative. 650 is still worthy of mention. Do like them better on OTL's is the only caveat for me.

The HD650 doesn't scale with the price of the amp. It scales with the quality and maybe a bit of power. The THX 887 is more than enough amp for the HD650.

The Sennheiser HD 650 is super easy to drive. The 16" M1 Max MBP will cause hearing damage if you push the volume at maximum with the Sennheiser HD 650.
