I'm considering selling all of my dynamics to go for the SR202 or SR2050 II. What woud you go for? Considering the system is adequate to drive both the HD650 and K701.

From what I have read, the SR202 has much more details and more revealing than the K701 but doesnt have the bass impact that the HD650 has. Ah upgraditis is biting me hard :frowning2:

Yeah I think the HD650 may have a bit more "body" to the bass and perhaps a tad more extension. However, in terms of bass quality, bass definition and bass detail, the SR202 truly beats out the sennheisers and the K702. I've only heard the K702 briefly and  didn't quite like it. The stax would reproduce more "real" rather than artificial details and has the better clarity. The area where the SR202 beats out both those phones and most other dynamics I've heard is in its reproduction of clean, fast transients. A quality that one should be appreciated and relished when investing in stax. The SR2050 system is of very good value and quite frankly I'll take that over even the HD800 any day.

I have no problem with the SR-202's bass. Regarding the HD800, sadly I never got to compare my Stax with the HD800s when I had them on loan as all my stax amps were out, but yeh, the SR-202 are very good, and out of a better amp they sounds even better.
