Short answer: Yes. I suggest a Corda HeadFive or a Gilmore Lite. What is your budget? Sorry I don't know about amps with multiple outputs.

I ran a poll on this a while ago, and we got a bunch of good opinions.

I was just listening to the HD650 out of the iPod again this morning and I still think it's okay. It still lacks the dynamics and soundstaging that a good amp could provide. But it's still an enjoyable form of music, even for these ears.

Still, they do a lot better with an amp, so I wish you luck!

Best,

Yeah they're not terrible out of an iPod. They'll probably be the best thing you've heard so far, in all honesty. However, you're not getting your full money's worth out of them until you hear what they can do out of a nice amp. The HD650 craves speed and power man! Unamped it's a little flabby and boring.

I agree completely. They are decent out of an iPod, but need a good amp (and source) to reach their full potential. It would not be so bad to live with them for a while with the plan being to add an amp later.

What's your source, & budget?
The Corda Aria matches up nice with the 650 I think.

i use my hd650 with the corda aria at work and i think it's great although i still think that the hd650 sounds even better with the woo3. the woo3 makes the already smooth hd650 even smoother.

JMO, but why get a world class headphone and not even tap into half their potential?
Either way...enjoy!
