I got a pair of refurb'd HD600 from Amazon last week for $199 and they are PERFECT. No one would ever be able to tell the difference.

I checked again, just now, and they are $178!!
PLUS, Amazon has a promotional $30 off with approved Amazon Visa application (can’t be too strict cause they gave one to me, 0% interest, no annual fee and all that- a good card for 0% balance transfers, a Head-Fi necessity!)

So, I called Amazon (yes, I have the customer service #) and they adjusted the price.
Final cost of my HD600: $148.94.

You only get to use the Amazon $30 credit once, or I would gladly share the wealth. Hell, I would have bought 3 pairs if I could get them for $148 each.
By the way, I meant to post the Amazon #, and a couple other hard-to-finds while I'm at it:

Amazon: 800.201.7575
eBay: 800.322.9266 & 888.749.3229
Buy.com: 877.780.2464

Well, I was brought down by temptation. They're probably not what I'm looking for, but I have almost no experience with high-end Sennheisers, and I really want to try them. Anyway, thanks for the link. Really can't go wrong at that price

EDIT: Oh, and JB, how do these compare to your ety's?

Amazon gives you 30 days, and if you use the 800 number, they will send you a shipping label so you can return them without paying postage: net cost- 0.

Well worth the trouble to be able to audition these for a month.

Amazon doesn't charge tax and shipping is free, not sure about 3eshops, although they may be the Amazon source given that the price is exactly the same.

and yeah, no reason to buy from the unknown website when you can already get it from a reputable place. amazon definitely might be getting them from that place, or they both might be getting them from the same source, though.

Sounds really tempting, but my wallet can't handle an item at that price that rite now, but that is still a great deal even for a refurb.....

Anyone read that Shure E4 group buy thread?

According to the rules laid down in that thread, the vendor providing the group buy, in this case Amazon, should pay headfi a fee, for the privilege of being able to post this "promotion" on headfi.

Otherwise this thread should be deleted.

is this a joke? this isn't a group buy, and it isn't done by any vendor...
