Is the combination of a Sennheiser HD600 and a Total Bithead overkill if I am using recorded music on my computer as a source? The Bithead bypasses the computer's soundcard so that's not an issue.

The bithead IS your computer's sound card. It contains the DAC; it is your source. The computer is your transport (technically part of the bithead is too). I don't have a bithead or HD650s, but I think the bithead is your limiting factor. In other words, your 650s are overkill (and probably a little hard to drive) for the bithead.
I was considering the bithead, but decided I didn't want to have my connection to the computer (usb), DAC and amp tied together so I couldnt upgrade one without doing both. Instead I spent a lot more to get an Ack dAck and headsave vibe. I'll likely then upgrade the vibe, though my ER-4s may not need a more powerful amp.
