Had my HD600 for a week now and I dont have my amp yet, JMT is making me a cmoy for them.

I am just wondering if using the amp will actualy improve the sound out of them, or will the only effect be that I can get the volume up higher?

Currently using them through a yamaha V620RDS receiver and they sound great. Also use them through my pc SBLive a lot and it sounds kinda flat, lacking body and bass. I am just wondering if the amp is going to make any difference to this, or simply make them louder, because the volume level on the sblive is ok as it is, and the receiver has no problem driving them.

Ewok, most portable devices can drive most headphones to an audible level, loud enough to damage your hearing. A dedicated amplifier like the JMT one you are about to receive will provide the power to drive your HD600. With the JMT amp, you should get tighter bass, clarity, and an enhanced soundstage.
