I know, HD650 > *

Still though, I'm excited. $200 refurbed from Amazon. Am I supposed to get a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter? I didn't

. After they get some burn in I'll drop by a store and A/B them with HD595.

For those of you with Transits, yes, it is more than enough to drive 300ohm headphones. WAY more than enough.

My previous headphones were HD280 and before that was crap ($50 crap but still crap) so this is quite a jump.

And in case you're wondering, it looks like I got the 600 drivers

That's weird, my stock HD600 cable is terminated with a 1/8 inch jack.

Mine was 1/8th too.

I preferred the 600 to the 595 in almost all areas. The 595 is clear, warm, and detailed, and sounds quicker and lighter than the 600. However, the 600 has a coherent, lush, and lustrous presense that makes music very intimately absorbing and engaging. It is more vibrant, more real, and more alive. With the 595, I was listening and hearing the traits of the headphone; with the 600 I was listening to the music and not caring about the sound. That, I think, is the best that I can say for them.

The 600 is definitely colder than the 595, though still a bit on the warm side. It's combination of a fairly cold(er) sound and smooth, coherent lushness is very appealing. I think you'll enjoy your 600's a whole lot.

i A/B the hd595 and hd600. At 1st the smoothiness of hd600 grabs my attention but later its the hd595 that brings me to the music. Hd595 makes me shout along the rocker while hd600 makes me listen to the rocker.

But hd600 is more forgiving

the 1/8" slides into the nice black metal body of the 1/4" adapter so you cant really tell.

You sir, my friend, have just made a fool of me

In related news, I fell asleep without setting my playlist to repeat. There's a good 8 hours of burn in lost

I wonder if I should feel bad about not having 650 drivers since they're supposed to be "better" and all, even though some people prefer the 600 sound (though it seems to be a minority).

You will only find 650 drivers in a 650 headphone

I'm sorry, but I just got a funny image of two headphones, each one with legs and arms, and they've got you tied to a wooden chair under a bright incandescent light. They start interrogating you, and one of them is making you shout along the rocker, and then the other one is forcing you to listen to the rocker.

Wow I didn't know a transit could drive headphones well. All this time I've been using a sirocco headphone output for my hd595, and thinking of buying an amp and hd650, when a transit could drive it! I'll definately buy a hd650 now.
