Good evening everyone. 
I've been using my HD598 for half a year, and I think it's capable of doing more than what it is doing. I've been interested in heaphones, amps, DAC, for a while but still new to cables. Is there any recommended cables that improve the bass performance? Thanks for answering!

Out of curiosity, what makes you think a cable will improve bass frequency response? You send the bass signal to the driver all the time. The driver simply doesn't produce it. A cable is not going to make the HD598 bassy. Nothing will make the HD598 bassy except equalization, and even then, it won't be bassy, it will just be a little warmer. I think you're just coming to the reality that you want more bass and you have a headphone that isn't capable of that.
 
Before you waste money on a cable, which will do nothing for bass, I would suggest you simply start looking into what your next headphone is going to be.
 
(If you actually want to add more bass to the HD598, things like a Digizoid ZO2 acting as a pre-amp in your circuit would be a start, not a cable)

I want some sort of bass that can go deeper, like my MMDT does. I'm not using EQ because I'm afraid if distorted or "unnatural" sound. Thanks for the info! I'm a novice in this field. LOL.

As also a HD598 user, I agreed what MalVeaux said. If you want to have better bass performance, you have to look over the amplifier but not cable replacement option. A good amplifier can improve the bass significantly.

I apologize for the thread necro, but I figured this maybe necro worthy. Found these short variations WITH grooves for Sennheiser HD 518, 598, 558. Top link is for the cable with mic connect, 2nd is for the one without. It ships from China, which could be a little sketchy, but for $16 it might be worth the gamble for a replacement wire. 3rd is a silver plated wire and 4th is the same but from Japan and manufactured rather than hand made.
