Been thinking about getting a set of HD650's recently but the more i listen to my HD595's im tempted to spend a bit of cash on these instead

So is it worth recabling these ? ive seen people mention dragon cables , are these good ? better than cardas ? and is there anyone you can recommend to do the work ?

Thanks

Recables are most often better spent on headphones unless you can do them yourself or find some one to do it in the FS forum for very cheap.

A Sennheiser HD580 with HD600 grills and an HD650 cable would be almost as good as the HD650's and for a bit over half the price of the HD650's.

Seems theres alot of different views on recabling , tbh im quite happy with the sound of the stock cable but just dont like the cable itself much , its long and thin and gets tangled easy , ive stood on it a coulpe of times too by accident and nearly tugged the headphones off my head , not fun

But like you say maybe its not worth the cash and i should just put up with the stock cable ?

I think people order them from Sennheiser USA. There's a huge thread about upgrading the HD580's; just do a search for it. You can still get them for $130 on Amazon. They're discontinued, so snatch em' up while you still can (though I'm sure they'll appear in the FS forums sometime or another).

You have a 595 not a 580/600

Are the drivers identical in the 595 and 650s? That is going to make a LOT more difference than grills and cables.

See ya

Same type of dirver, 650s are more perscise than the 595s. The Major difference is that the 650's drivers are not angled like the 595s, and that the 650's drivers are hand selected.

Maybe they are hand selected, but as far as precision, eh, I must say 595 takes the cake there, if you mean by precision, detail. That is IMO though.
