Been thinking about getting a set of HD650's recently but the more i listen to my HD595's im tempted to spend a bit of cash on these instead

What amp would work well with my 595's without breaking the bank ?

Been looking at the gilmore lite and the XIANG SHENG 708B but i understand the 708B needs modding to get the best out of it , is there anyone that does these mods and at cost ?

I enjoyed my hd595 very much the LD2++.

mmm...I want to try some tubes with hd595...

First figure out what you want to get out of amplification of the hd595. Mostly you will be getting sound coloration out of it and bit more resolution, so choose how you'd like to color. (I'd imagine it would be all about bass, which ld2++ should hold up to xD)

Meier Porta Corda behaves nicely with the hd595, given that the source is up to snuff.

My Headfive is pretty good with the 595s but i'm also really curious what the heed can amp can do with the 595s. Or a singlepower, zana deux, or something of that caliber.

The 595/SR-71 is a great combination! The 595 is substantially expanded ~ subtle, deeper, more accurate bass; delicate highs.

I just got a HeadFive, and only listened a few hours last night but really liking it so far. I can only compare it to my portable PINT amp, but the HeadFive gives me the depth I have been looking for. The bass seems to be more detailed as well. This combination has been suggested a whole bunch of times on Head-Fi, and I think I now know why.
