Hello -

Thank you for your inquiry and interest in Sennheiser. The HD580 has been discontinued, however you can still purchase them. Amazon.com is a great place to start.

If you need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

...so the moral of the story? you should take Eric's advice and buy an HD580 from amazon STAT!

well i was going to sell mine, but not anymore. You think they may become a collectors item, or were they too mass produced?

Since they were mass produced you'd probably have to wait 10 years to see any appreciation. Only basing this on the fact that phones such as the HP1, HP2, R10, CD3000 and K1000 were all pretty much limited and expensive to begin with. Also, HD600's are considered superior and I don't think they're going to be discontinued anytime soon. Still nice to have though

Hmm, foreshadowing the release of a new headphone in the HD series, maybe?

I guess out with the old, in with the new....

I heard alot of people swap out cables and the grills on these with the HD600, anyone confirm a difference with that?

Also, anyone planning or now amping their HD580s? How does it compare?

My HD555s went out today to their buyer and my new cans wont be here till fri or saturday. OHHHH i miss my 555s =(

However, im on pins and needles waiting for my 580s, cant wait. I guess my iGrados will have to hold me over till then hehe.

I doubt you could get much money from them cuz its technically same headphone as HD600 which is still available, which then again might (hopefully) get cheaper soon.

Don't think so. 580s have been out of stock for months over here.

should take the same course as the hd590!

I got my HD580 a year ago for $85 shipped from J&R. I am surprised that they are this expensive right now. $125 is was above what I am willing to pay for them.
