I have had this combination for a while now, and I'm generally pleased
with the sound. Only thing is, I keep getting this feeling the sound could
be better! I'm thinking of buying a set of HD650's.
What do you guys think? will I get a noticeable sound upgrade?
I'm very happy with my Rega as source. Just wondering if the 650's are
too much headphone for the Little Dot ll ++. Most of the music I listen to is either Classic Rock, Jazz or Classic Reggae. Oh yeah, I do like BASS.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

JD

im pretty sure someone will suggest changing to HD600 grills (ur sig says u already have the cardas cable) for ur HD580 rather than buying a HD650.

perhaps a look into other amps? Darkvoice mebbe?

Hey mADmAN or anyone who want's to jump in, what is the difference in grills?
will swapping them improve the sound?

Thanks,
JD

no it doesn't not improve the sound. some people swear the soundstage opens up more, but honestly it doesn't. you are better off upgrading your headphones unless you are on a really tight budget. you could always order the grills and then put them on. the placebo effect might take hold on you and you might hold off on upgrading for awhile

. i'm selling mine even though i waited for a month for them because they just don't do anything. plus i think they look worse...especially after i painted mine (link on 580 in my sig). being able to see the ugly elements on the inside just turns me off.

Hi souperman,

Have you owned either of these headphones?
If so, did you like them? One thing I notice about these
headphones, you can't easily replace the cables on them.
I kind of like that option with the Senns.
