HD580 Jubilee, or what they should have the HD600 been looking like

Got a massive good deal on a pair, with their orinal box a few days back. Replaced all foam parts so the headphones look and feel like new, hooray for German engineering!

Before I finally found a new pair of HD580 Jubilee (had a pair 12 years ago, sold them, regretted ever since) i settled on a pair of HD600. They are surely not the same, looks and rarity are handsdown won by the jubilee but even the sound (ymmv) seems to be in favour of these old bastards.
I know they don't get much love due to their age and rarity but I for one salute team HD580 Jubilee!

It's the same headphone, but model # changed to HD600.

Congratulations arielext. Been looking everywhere for a set of these but no luck so far. Saw an ad for number 1 of 4000 that went for about $525 recently. How does the sound differ from the HD600 ?

I found one for an absurd low price; with the box but not the certificate. Didn't hesitate and we got a deal within an hour.

I had my "old" (2016) HD600 next to it and while the difference is very very small it cannot be unheard once you hear it. From memory the HD600 was a bit less refined and had just a bit more upper bass. As I say from memory cause I sold the HD600 a few days back.

I suppose the certificate increases the value a bit. They are a bit of an irrational purchase given they appear for sale so infrequently (even compared to the HD580) and yet there are vast numbers of new and used HD600 available which as you have said sound almost the same. They're just very appealing to someone who likes Sennheiser headphones but can't stretch to a HE60 or HE90.
