Hey you guys don't get ahead of yourselves he is running on integrated sound, remember? I would say for a first time buyer on integrated sound for games....The HD465. Good value great for games, good on integrated sound, and really no need to burn in. at 60$ u.s.d. you can't go wrong.make sure you use your sound cards control panel to tone down the bass or it can be a bit overpowering

just make sure you remember to update your integrated drivers!!! I recently had a problem with them on my laptop, and they almost ruined my cans!!

Edit: watch out when you use any phones with a guitar amp as it's easy for somone who doesn't know what he's doing to push the phones too far and ruin the drivers.

Thanks for all the answer guys. Sorry I havent been able to reply sooner, didnt have access to a comp last few days.
Anyway here's how things look at the moment. I did deceide to go for the 555 from my local shop but in the last minute came to the conclusion it was better to order them from an online computer company. The price was alot better there. They didnt have the model in until the 28 this month though so there was still some time to change my mind... :P
And now today I have read all the gaming headphone thread I can find here for the last hours. What I feel though is that I have lost some interested in the 555 because of all the exstatic reviews of the dt770 which I found a VERY cheap price for on pricerunners swedish site from a german company I have never heard of called Thomann. (http://www.thomann.de/thoiw5_artikel-190467.html)
They would cost me with shipping only about 45 dollars more then the 555. So the last and final question I need help with before Tuesday, Will the soundplacement of the dt770 be "obviously better for an untrained ear" with my Audigy 4 card and no amp then the 555?
I realise now that when I ordered my new comp I should have gotten a X-fi card but I did go for the Audigy. So since its very new, only a couple of weeks I dont want to throw money getting a new one this soon. Is the audigy much worse you think for placing sounds then the X-fi and is the dt770/80overkill for it?
Sorry for all the questions

Just thought I would make a small update regarding my headphone purchase. In the end I went for the hd555:s after all.
Having never owned a quality pair of headphones I really had hig expectations and sofar the headphones have not lived up to what I hoped for when it comes to cd listening.
But the reason for that might not be the headphones themselvs(at least thats what I hope...).
The thing is I have only been able to listen to them through my computers Audigy4 soundcard since my stereo is broken. I didnt know it either until I plugged in my headphones. I had for a long time belivied it was one of my speakers that was the problem which the headphones proved it was not.
At the moment my 555:s are in a drawer wiht a pillow ontop being burned in with a 59 track file I downloaded from a link from these forums, Bink Audio Test CD. Sofar 15 hours and rising... :P(on volume at about 60% in the sound control panel, a bit worried that it was to high, but to late now)
Will continue burning them in with these tracks for the next five nights or so when I'm sleeping. Want to get atleast 50hours of "quality burn"(is there such a thing really?) befor I start trying to enjoy my precious Keith Jarrett collection among other things through them. Jarrett deserves the best

Today I will try some first person shooters with them. Will be interesting checking out if the headphones makes it easier to place sounds.

yeah a stupid question, is it bad for a pair of headphones to be in use 24/7? Since I want to burn them in they will be in use constantly first week. At nights and daytimes when I'mnot using them they will play that BinkAudioTest cd.

SQ wise, I think a pair of Grados would suit your Blues/Jazz better. However, long-term comfort is a serious issue hence I will still go with what I said before and recommend the HD555. The HD555 are much more boring, but far more comfortable and versatile for ANY use. They're just not "great" for anything.

Keep them on as long as they are not distorting. the 555s need burn in! mine suuuucked out of the box. flat sounding, thin and screechy
