I was wondering, what is better?? the HD555 or the SR60??
I want to get something for a friend, and am wondering which of these I should get

What kind of music does your friend like? What kind of sound does he/she prefer? What kind of source does he/she use? Is comfort a large factor?

More information will help us make a better decision.

The HD555s are more neutral while the SR60 are more forward and generally sound better with rock music or similar.

I'm not sure what kind of music he likes, but he loves movies... always listens with a pair of $20 sonys.
He really needs a better pair of headphones~
I think he likes classical and opera...

so I guess the HD555 would be a better choice?? How much bigger of a soundstage does it have??

The SR60s have probably the smallest soundstage of all open cans, but they are still amazing for rock. Your friend would be better off with HD555, the soundstage is much much bigger.

The 555 to me is plain better in sound quality. The sr60s are better for portable use since they are smaller and might even seem to sound better at first listen. Once you get the 555 sound though, the sr60s will sound like a toy beside it. As I always say, Burn In The 555s well over 100 hours. They reward you with great sound.

Sennheiser HD555's have AMAZING comfort, I usually forget I have them on my head.
