How would you rate the Senn. HD555/595 compared to the Grado SR-60 for bass? I've had the sr-60's so that would be my reference point for comparison. And which of the 2 senns has the better bass?

dumped my sr60(too much brightness that got my ears ringing)for hd555.After 200 hours of burn in the bass is very tight and accurate.

I'm very satisfied with the bass from my HD 595s.

Bass is slightly more prominent on the 555, but I prefer the 595 myself. Try the Senn 485 - that has some bottom end wallop and is cheap.

When I first got my sr-60's I was not very impressed. I thought they sounded only slighty better than some cheap sony headphones I had in the past. I mean the 555/595 won't sound close to Koss portapro's right? And do they sound significantly better than the hd485's?
How much of a difference in overall sound is there between the 555 and 595? Is it worth the extra $$$?

These Senns have nice bass but you won't get the impact and slam of the Grados. You might find them too polite bass-wise.
