The 485 are really boomy sounding headphones. They have a pretty good high end, but are not really audiophile headphones. More teenager tons of bass but still sound good headphones. I used them extensively for 3 years and loved them, but the HD580 is much clearer and better sounding overall. Its sounds like there a blanket between your ear and the driver on the H485. They just leave alot to be desired now that I upgraded. 485s are very comfortable... same with the 555 and 580.

485! That's my choice over the 555 and 595 as well... more involving, better bass!
