I just got a pair of HD485's and was wondering if it would be worth getting an amp for them? If so which amp would you recommend. I have them running to my computer right now with a Audigy 4 SE soundcard.

Maybe a little. Most Senn 4xx's sound fine without one. If you DID get an amp, it would improve, but I don't think it'd be worth it.

hey i am in almost the exact same situation as you, i have recently picked up a paid of HD555 and am running an audigy se as well. I just had a thread kind of like this today and what i got out of it is that an amp will improve your sound, but maybe not as much as you would expect or like it to.

I've got a HD485 too, which I mainly use for gaming.
But sometimes I use it out of my DAP and it sounds a little lacklustre. But I used to own a MF XcanV3 and it sounded really very good out that tubed amp.
So yes, a good amp certainly improves the HD485.
