Uhm.. Some sortof humpy bass dark sounding annoyingness. Maybe I should order the regular grado comfies, or maybe I'm on crack? Maybe I need to do something different?

What were you using before? Or are you just now noticing this? With the SR60 I use HD414 pads with a hole so that none of the pad covers the driver.

Well, most of the recordings I first listened to were anemic, so they sounded meatier, which was nice. But a lot of neutral, and slightly bassy stuff is just annoying.

I tried making bigger holes in the pads, then my ears touch the drivers, and it sounds bad. That whole honkyness thing comes back. Before this, I used nothing. I purchased these headphones knowing that they were 6 years old, with deteriorated pads and a broken cable.
