So I'll be buying a new pair of cans very soon and for me, portability (along with durability and comfort) and audiophile sound quality are the most important aspects for me. I've decided I'd like to buy both the HD25-1 for outside use, since I commute often, and also the HD598 for their sound quality. But for the moment I can only buy one, so which is worth it? I know the 598s are not open, but I think I'd rather choose them if the quality compared to the 25-1s is much better.
So basically, does anyone have any experience with both of these headphones? What are the major audio differences, what genres are each best for, and overall, just how much better does the 598 sound than the 25-1? I'd rather choose a closed back can that only sounds slightly worse than the 598.
