Hi to all,
This morning I've seen a nice deal on a local store for HD228 and i'm tempted, planning to buy that and give HD218 to a friend of mine. Now, the question is: are they worth the upgrade from HD218 that I already own? I like HD218, they are not at PX200-II level, but I use them a lot when I want a toss-around portable and not IEM. They are really comfortable too. On this forum I've read a lot about HD228, but HD218 seem not so popular, so I would be glad to have a brief comparision from someone who heard both. Looking to Headroom graphs (they rate higher now the HD218), HD228 seem to be a bassier version of HD218, and I'm afraid that they will be too much bassy for my tastes:
