I watched a HD version of Birdman and while the movie was great, it was the killer drum score by Antonio Sanchez that blew me away. Through my system the snares and hi hats sounded ultra real and the bass was thick and palpable. So before the movie even ended I looked up the soundtrack on Spotify. Okay...not quite the same experience but I expect to lose some SQ. It's 320kbps after all. So not surprisingly I decided to download a red book format of the soundtrack. And guess what, it still isn't as awesome as that on the movie.

Anyone knows what's happening here? Could an embedded audio track on a movie file be higher res than red book format?
